Basic Payment Scheme & Countryside Stewardship Scheme Claims 2020

The Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) is a government rural grant scheme for farmers and landowners which supports their main business income with payment entitlements on land that is actively farmed. There are also financial incentives provided by the Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS) to help conserve and improve the environment.

The application window for the 2020 BPS and CSS is open, with the 15^th May deadline for submissions just over a month away. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges which have arisen with the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) employees now working from home, it does not appear that there will be an extension to the deadline. RH & RW Clutton’s Land Agents are in regular contact with the RPA and have access to the latest updates.
