Biomethane - Renewable Gas

RH & RW Clutton is delighted to announce that they have been appointed to apply for a biomethane plant near to March, a Fenland market town situated in Cambridgeshire.

The proposal is to construct a large anaerobic digestion (AD) plant to produce biomethane gas and electricity together with biofertilizer. The application includes two digester tanks, a combined heat and power biogas generator, flare stack (6 metres high), 3 digestate storage lagoons, a harvested water storage lagoon, workshop and associated infrastructure and landscaping as well as access. It will treat 54,000 tonnes of waste a year and produce enough gas to heat around 3000 homes.

Oliver Harwood who has been leading on the planning project commented “AD is the most sustainable renewable technology of all, producing energy 24/7 as well as certified biofertilizer using food and farm waste.  We have worked hard with expert landscape advisers and the project engineers to ensure the proposal sits well in the landscape of the fens.”
