Fire Risk Washing Machines

Whirlpool has announced a recall on fire-risk washing machines and it is thought that a high number of their ‘at risk’ Indesit and Hotpoint machines are in rented properties.

The recall affects models made between October 2014 and February 2018. Landlords or their managing agents should review their portfolios immediately to find out if they have any of the affected makes and models listed here: www.which.co.uk/whirlpool

Those with affected machines are being advised to unplug them. If used at all, the machines should only be operated at the lowest temperature wash cycles but should not be left unattended.
