DESCRIPTION
Potlands Cottage is a lovely Grade II listed detached, property in the popular village of Northchapel. Believed to date from the 1700’s, the building has very attractive elevations of coursed stone with red brick dressings and quoins, interspersed with painted wooden casement windows, all under a clay tiled roof. Having been originally a pair of cottages, the property was converted into one house a number of years ago with some fine period features that include exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace. The bright and spacious accommodation is very well presented and has been recently renovated by the current owner. The property includes a large entrance hall, currently used as a boot room, with plenty of hand built storage cupboards. Off the entrance hall is an inner hall, with cloakroom and utility room. The main reception rooms include a dining room, sitting room, with fireplace and a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area which also includes a working fireplace. On the first floor is a large main bedroom with an en suite bathroom, three further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Outside, the property is approached through newly installed double wooden gates into the entrance drive with parking for several cars. The garden is very pleasant, facing mainly south and west and is enclosed by fencing and mature hedges and shrubs. Adjacent to the house is a paved terrace framed by a pergola. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, with a variety of floral beds and shrubs. There is the added advantage of a newly adapted garden room with shower, wc and storage.
